Chimney Sweeper
Odezia atrata (70.130)
The distinctive Chimney Sweeper with its charcoal black wings and distinctive white tips to its upper forewings flies in the daytime, and prefers bright sunshine. It occurs in grassy meadows where its larval foodplant is present.
It is a widespread species in Warwickshire although limited to sutable habitat with a greater concentration of records in the northern half of the county.
There is a single generation each year with adult moths on the wing in June and July
